About This Event

Wildlife Watch: Wild about Birds at Rye Harbour will take place on 25 August 2026 at the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The event introduces young learners to bird adaptations and includes an opportunity to make bird artwork.

Out on the Nature Reserve we'll introduce young learners to the amazing adaptations of birds on the reserve and make some bird artwork.

Course tutor: Aimi Rifat, Wilder Learning and Communities Officer

Learn about the amazing adaptations of birds at Rye Harbour through practical activities on the reserve, find out how they are adapted to living on the Saltmarsh and learn to identify the different species we have here. We will go to the bird hide and learn to identify the birds using binoculars and do some sketches in the bird hide. We will then return to the classroom to develop our drawings into beautiful bird artwork.

Suitable for children aged 5 to 10 years, who must by accompanied by a parent or guardian but does not need to buy a ticket.
