Gather for the autumn equinox. Take stock, let something go, plant seeds for what's next and make connections.

Right about now the year stops climbing. The harvest is gathered, or nearly, and for a short while the light and the dark stand level, facing each other across the day. Mabon is the name for this pause, the point of balance before the descent. Everything that has been growing since spring is finished, and the ground is asked to lie quiet for a season.

We're gathering on the evening of Saturday 26th September to mark that turn. Not to switch off or drift away from it all, this isn't a retreat or an hour of guided calm, but to stand in it fully and do the work the season is actually asking for. We'll look back at how we got here and take honest stock of what grew and what didn't. We'll let some of it go back into the ground. And then, deliberately, we'll choose the seeds we're planting into the dark half of the year, so what we want to see next year has somewhere to start.

Mabon isn't something happening at a distance, out there in the sky, for us to admire. The balance it holds, dark and light, the bright half of the year handing over to the dark, the guardian of the year passing the keys along, is the same pattern that turns inside us. This is a chance to stand at your own balance point and decide, clearly, what you carry forward into the dark and what you finally let the earth take back.
