Running as part of our Art In Nature series, this workshop will allow you to slow down, connect with nature, and learn creative skills.

The day will consitis of two sections:

In the morning we will focus on creating willow windspinners. You will get an introduction to willow weaving, learning about the craft including sourcing willow an harvesting practises as well as getting stuck in and making your own.

In the afternoon we will turn our focus to stick and string crafts, using twine, string, wool and natural resources to create a small decorative project outside in nature. You will gain an overview of the practice and learnabout tools, various techniques and key knots.

This event is FREE to attend but Eventbrite tickets are required. We only have limited spaces so please book a ticket for each attendee.

Come prepared for the weather and wear shoes suitable for gentle walking.

The event is for adults only, we ask that no under 18s book a ticket please.

Note on getting here:

Please be aware that there is currently a security cabin and gate partway along Skelton Grange Road. This is for the waste-to-energy site next door to the Environment Centre. If you travel by car they may note the vehicle registration, ask for the driver’s name and where you are going (tell them TCV). It is simply to keep track of traffic entering and leaving. If you are walking or cycling you can go straight past. Essentially, don’t be worried when you see it, you are going to the right place!
