About This Event

A practical masterclass providing confidence, knowledge and tools to tackle performance issues fairly, confidently and at the right time. Following our key Masterclass session in July of this year, we are very pleased to be able to provide our second masterclass available to VCSE organisations, who are managers and leaders of employed staff members. If you are a VCSE manager also based in Leicester or Leicestershire this is the session for you! Managing staff performance and having difficult conversations we know can be challenging. This practical masterclass will give you the confidence, knowledge and tools to tackle performance issues fairly, confidently and at the right time. What will you take away? · You will learn how to approach difficult conversations · How to manage performance concerns early · Giving clear and constructive feedback · Supporting staff to improve · Handling challenging responses and emotions · Understanding the capability process · Knowing when to seek HR advice and support · Strategies for managing challenging responses and emotions during capability discussions · The confidence and resources to manage performance and so needed as a manager or leader in the VCSE sector · An opportunity to network with your peers through conversations with other groups and organisations. Meet your trainer – Jimmy van Santen We’re delighted to welcome Jimmy van Santen, Head of Service Delivery at Roots HR CIC, who brings extensive practical HR knowledge and experience of supporting organisations with people management and challenging workplace situations. This is a great opportunity to learn from an experienced HR professional, ask questions and build your confidence in managing staff and challenging situations. Please do note: This session is suitable even if you did not attend the first HR masterclass around law. Please be aware this session is focused on supporting Managers and Leaders who support employees/staff – not just volunteers.
