Atoms in Action: The Past, Present and Future of In Situ Electron Microscopy will occur on August 28, 2026, at the Royal School Of Mines, South Kensington Campus. This event is free to attend.

Atoms in Action’ celebrates the history and future of in situ electron microscopy as part of the Royal School of Mines 175th anniversary celebrations, Atoms to Planets. The workshop will look back at the pioneering development of in situ microscopy at Imperial College London, before exploring what is now possible when we watch materials respond and evolve in real time. Bringing together leading researchers in the field, we will look towards the future of dynamic electron microscopy, including new in situ approaches, automation and increasingly complex experiments.
