Deep Into the Sixties (Bloomsbury), the latest instalment in David Kynaston’s ‘Tales of a New Jerusalem’ series, covers the short but intense period between Churchill’s death and England’s footballing triumph at the World Cup. As a social historian, Kynaston is unrivalled in his masterful handling of a diverse range of sources, including diaries, newspaper reports and historical archives. He will be in conversation with Alison Light, author of Red, Red Robin, A Radical Romance and Common People.
