About Hay Fever

Hay Fever is a new production of Noël Coward’s comedy, directed by Emily Burns. It stars Emmy, two-time Tony, Screen Actors Guild and Drama Desk winner Christine Baranski in her West End debut as Judith Bliss, alongside Academy Award nominated stage and screen legend Richard E. Grant.

The play follows Judith, who has retired from life on stage but still misses the applause. When she invites a young fan to spend the weekend at the family’s country home, the arrival of each family member’s own guest sets off a chain of parlour games, put-downs and unrequested encores.

At the centre of the story are Judith’s husband David, a hermetic novelist, and their children Sorrel and Simon, who are not well suited to hosting. The result is a comedy of clashing personalities and badly matched guests.
