Jana Prikryl & Richard Ayoade: The Channel

Born in the former Czechoslovakia but raised in Canada, poet and editor Jana Prikryl makes her UK debut with her fourth collection The Channel (Faber). We find her here deep in conversation with Shakespeare’s King Lear, and in particular Cordelia, as a person banished from home whose nearest relations know love only as a form of control. Prikryl will be reading from her work, and in conversation about it with actor, writer and film-maker Richard Ayoade.

Please note: our events start promptly at 7 p.m., so please arrive in good time. St. JOHN next door will be open until 6.55 p.m. for wine, house cocktails and snacks.
