About Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is at the Phoenix Theatre, London. Set in Hawkins in 1959, it looks at life before the world turned upside down, following young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby’s sister Joyce Maldonado, and the arrival of new student Henry Creel as the town’s routines begin to shift.

Created by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to tell a new chapter in the Stranger Things story. It has also received five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Standard.

Running time: Approx. 3 hrs including an interval.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

On the day: The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Please arrive 30 minutes before the performance begins. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval.
