About Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is at the Phoenix Theatre and takes audiences back to Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. It follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby, Joyce Maldonado and new student Henry Creel as ordinary teenage life begins to shift into something darker.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to revisit the beginning of the Stranger Things story. It has received five-star reviews from The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Standard.

Age guidance: Recommended 12+. Under 5s are not permitted, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Content information: The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

Arrival and late entry: The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Arrive 30 minutes before the start time. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval.
