About Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Phoenix Theatre is set in Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. It follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby, Joyce Maldonado and new student Henry Creel as a regular town and its ordinary worries begin to change.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the production uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to tell an original chapter at the start of the Stranger Things story.

Running time: approximately 3 hours including an interval.

Before you book

Recommended for ages 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Please arrive 30 minutes before the performance. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
