A bookclub but with a difference - a few passages to read & discuss in a relaxed environment.
Slow down, read closely, think and discuss - that's what we are asking you to do in this club.
How did the Victorian poet Alfred Tennyson approach The Odyssey? Explore his world weary Ulysses and forget with his The Lotus-Easters (both published1842) in this slow reading session. Then see a gloriously illustrated edition of these poems, and others by Tennyson, from the Portico's collection from 1860.
Turn off your smart phones, step away from the hectic pace of life, and discuss words.
Includes a tea or coffee.
