Create Your Own Personalised Panel

Join traditional signwriter and mural artist Meghan McDermott for a creative, hands-on workshop exploring the beauty of Irish lettering.

Meghan specialises in traditional signwriting, gold leaf on glass and Irish typography. She’ll begin with a short introduction to type design and hand-drawn lettering before sharing visual inspiration from sources such as the Book of Kells, using uncial lettering, traditional Irish shop fronts, and Ogham too.

Using Celtic lettering and decorative motifs as inspiration, each participant will design and paint their own initial onto a panel, creating something completely personal to them. Meghan will be on hand throughout to offer guidance, and to demonstrate techniques such as shadowing and 3D lettering, as well as providing helpful templates for anyone less comfortable working freehand.

No previous experience is needed, and everyone will leave with their own hand-designed Celtic-inspired tile to take home.
