Taste our new Eclipse Milk Stout Truffles, meet the brewers from First & Last, and make your own chocolates with Chocolatier Jane Williams

This is one of our collaboration workshops, where we invite a local producer to share their wonderful products and ingredients with us. But its an extra special one, because we have invited First & Last brewers, Red and Sam Kellie, to mark the launch of our Eclipse Milk Stout Truffles! Davenport's Chocolates and First & Last brewery have combined the best of their respective artisan crafts to bring you these unique chocolates.

If you haven't come across them yet, the First & Last Brewery (https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fg%2F1wj_sv1g) is an award-winning, family-run microbrewery in an old ambulance station in rural Northumberland, founded in 2016 by Red and Sam Kellie. They brew in small batches, with recipes inspired by the landscape and dark skies of Northumberland, often featuring locally sourced and hand-foraged ingredients. You'll get to try a few different ones!

The Eclipse Milk Stout sits at a robust 5.6% ABV, and has a balanced combination of sweet, roasted malty flavours and a smooth, mellow bitterness. It is velvety smooth, with creamy notes from the milk sugars, enhanced by a delicate hint of vanilla. You won't be too surprised to hear that it pairs rather well with chocolate, and we can't wait for you to try it for yourselves!

This workshop represents the official launch of our Davenports x First & Last Eclipse Milk Stout Truffles, come and be part of the launch party! You'll hear the story of these two artisan businesses joined forces to create a chocolate that is stunningly delicious, and represents the best of Northumberland!

There will be beers and chocolates to taste and enjoy, of course, and then you can enjoy being a chocolatier for the evening too. The idea is to enjoy creativity and experimentation together, to try and taste different recipes and combinations. Your challenge for the night is to create your own beer/stout infused chocolates. Choose what chocolate to match the beers with (milk, white, dark, or your own mix!) and whether to pair it with other ingredients. And we thought we'd add in the fun concept of making a beer bottle shaped chocolate bar.

Bring a friend, and enjoy experimenting with chocolate together. Or come on your own, and meet other creatives who love chocolate too! This unique event promises to be an exciting chocolate experience, and of course you can take your creations home with you to show your friends and family.
