This one-day CPD training equips professionals working with Survivors of Domestic Abuse to confidently facilitate Steps to Freedom, a person-centred recovery programme designed to support healing, empowerment, and resilience.
During this interactive session, participants will:
Explore the Steps to Freedom approach and its trauma-informed framework.
Develop facilitation skills tailored to the needs of survivors.
Practice guiding participants through the programme in a safe, supportive environment.
Gain practical strategies for promoting empowerment and recovery in your practice.
The Session include a Facilitator handbook, participant Journal and lifetime access to our online resources library.
This training is ideal for practitioners, support workers, counsellors, and anyone working directly with survivors of domestic abuse who already has experince of delivering group work sessions.
The training is CPD accredited allowing participants to include this training in their professional development records.
Facilitating 'Steps to Freedom' -1 day training.
This training is to be completed in order to deliver the steps to freedom as a facilitator or co-facilitator. This can be a standalone training for experienced facilitators or added on to the best practice training for those with less experience.
The 1 day training includes practical training to learn how to run the programme using the handbook and journals. Practicing the activities with examples of how to facilitate each activity in a trauma informed and anti-oppressive way. The training will be interactive, using case studies, role play, and reflection to build practical skills and confidence.
Best Practice in Survivor Recovery Programmes
For professionals working with survivors but with little or no experience of facilitating groups, focusing on trauma-informed practice, group dynamics, and safeguarding. 1 day course £250 Launching in 2026. This can be combined with the Steps to Freedom Training at a reduced rate of £450
