About This Event
Alison O'Connor will conduct an online workshop on 14 October 2026 at 10:00 exploring the potential of midlife for renewal and reinvention. The session encourages practitioners to reflect on this life stage as a critical opportunity for authenticity and discerning what truly matters.
Midlife offers a particular vantage point from which to look at our lives. There is a rich history behind us — experiences, relationships, decisions and turning points that have shaped who we are — while there may still be decades of life ahead. In fact, as many of us are predicted to live till 100, 50 may be a midpoint now.
While most of us are familiar with the concept of midlife crisis, we may be missing the potential of this midlife stage for renewal and reinvention, for our clients and for ourselves.
Jung saw midlife as a critical, creative stage of life: an opportunity to be our more authentic selves; to discern what really matters at this point in our lives and what we might need to let go of as we find our next path. Every life has its ups and downs, and regret can be a great teacher. This midlife transition requires time and space to reflect; a chance to listen to the wisdom within.
Many of our clients come to us with struggles around this stage of life: relationships changing or ending, kids leaving home, grief, parental loss, redundancy, retirement or perhaps a less defined sense of unease or dissatisfaction…a quiet stirring of questions unasked. Paths unexplored. This workshop offers inisghts and tips to guide your practice as you witness clients in this transtional life stage.
