Simple, safe, fun ways to heal your nervous system, work with your vagus nerve and find inspiration from rescue cats.
**Who is this workshop for?**
For therapists, supervisors and anyone with an interest in this accessible, rescue cat inspired approach to Polyvagal Theory. Especially for trauma survivors' and neurodivergents' extra sensitive nervous systems
**Learning outcomes**
1. Introduction to Polyvagal Theory and the Polyvagal Purrs approach I've been evolving since 2013
2. Rescue cat inspired language to make the jargon more accessible and inspire you to befriend and name your own vagal states with names that are meaningful for you
3. Practical, sustainable and potentially transformational self-care, Self care and collective care ideas to continue building on
**Workshop format**
A mixture of teaching (using the rescue cats to illustrate elements of Polyvagal Theory and introduce the Polyvagal Purrs approach) and experiential with journalling to ground insights and sharing to connect and co-regulate
**Sensitive topics**
Trauma work can, of course, be triggering but the cats' stories and gentle but effective ways of working with the nervous system can make it context free while also incredibly powerful. As participants connect with the adaptive survival responses that kept them alive, they'll have more freedom around healing and connecting with their whole selves and others in ways that feel safe and enable them to thrive
