About This Event

On 23 October 2026, Cloie Parfitt will lead a workshop on autistic burnout through a trauma-informed lens. Participants will learn to distinguish this condition from depression and explore practical strategies for sustainable recovery.

This workshop explores autistic burnout through a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming lens, moving beyond the idea that burnout is simply the result of "too much stress" or insufficient self-care. Together, we'll examine the cumulative impact of masking, sensory overwhelm, chronic adaptation, invalidation and nervous system dysregulation, and how these experiences can contribute to burnout over time.

Participants will learn how to recognise autistic burnout, distinguish it from depression and chronic stress, understand why conventional approaches to recovery often fall short, and explore practical ways of supporting sustainable recovery that prioritise safety, authenticity and long-term wellbeing.
