This presentation will provide an overview of how to work with dreams in an existential-phenomenological way. Allowing the dream to speak for itself brings us closer to the lived reality of the dreamer. Using a few different existential lenses to focus on aspects of the dream will bring the dream to life, showing its relevance to the dreamer’s current existence.
The presentation will include a brief overview of how to work with space in the dream, tracing the tensions and paradoxes on four dimensions of existence, as portrayed and experienced in the dream. It will also include working with the dialectic of time as the dream presents it to the dreamer. The emotional compass will help us pinpointing the mood, atmosphere and feelings in the dream, allowing us to find out what the purpose and passions of the dreamer are. There will be an illustration of the dreamwork and participants are encouraged to bring fragments of their own dreams to make sense of with the method in order to bring it to life.
