The Millfields Trust Genesis Building in Plymouth will host an in-person workshop on damp and mould prevention starting at 09:00 on 29 September 2026. Advisors will discuss the causes of this issue and steps individuals can take to protect their homes.
Join our advisors for an in-person workshop exploring the issue of damp and mould, and steps you can take to prevent this in your home
With 1/4 of the local population in Plymouth living in cold and damp homes*, we understand that damp and mould is a big issue for many local residents.
Join our friendly and knowledgable advisors at this free workshop to explore the issue of damp and mould in more detail and learn about how you can make simple changes to prevent and control this in your home. As a charity, our free advice is always independent and impartial.
We will look at the different types of damp and common causes, as well as some steps you could take at home to monitor damp and mould and reduce this in the future.
There will be plenty of opportunity for questions - we can't promise to know all of the answers to individual issues, but our core aim is that participants leave feeling more equipped to tackle damp and mould this autumn/winter.
Learning objectives
By the end of the workshop we hope you will:
1) Be more confident in identifying the causes of damp
2) Understand what measures can be taken to prevent or reduce damp and mould in your home
3) Be aware of the importance of changes in behaviour in managing damp and mould
Timings
Participants are welcome to arrive from 9:30am for welcome refreshments and introductions, the workshop will begin promptly at 10:00am.
There will be a comfort/refreshment break at around 11:15am.
The workshop will end by 1:00pm, although our advisors will be available after this for any further questions/discussions.
