This one-day course will introduce you to the basics of welding metal and let you have a go at welding to create your own object in metal.
Introduction to Welding:
This one-day welding course will introduce you to the basics of welding metal and let you have a go at welding to create a product of your own. The course explores the two most common welding processes MIG and MMA (Stick) Welding.
Over the day; you will use both welding processes and learn the difference between the two. You will also use angle grinders to prepare metal for welding and use them to clean up welds. You will learn best practise for welding metal of different thicknesses and size.
By the end of the day; you know the difference between the two processes and chose a welding method to create your own metal object.
This course is perfect for beginners or anyone keen to just have a go at welding without buying all the expensive machinery and metal.
The day will be led by Richard Evans, an experienced metal fabricator and designer. All materials required for this course are included in the price.
What you'll make: A metal object.
Skills you'll learn: MIG Welding of mild steel, material preparation using an angle grinder, general fabrication and finishing techniques.
Course Length: 1x Day 10:00 am - 4:00pm
