What if you could see a familiar situation differently?

We spend much of our lives solving problems, making decisions and getting things done.

But sometimes the most useful thing we can do is pause, look again and notice what we have been missing.

Seeing Differently is a 1-hour creative reflection workshop inspired by Indian aesthetics, Madhubani art and the LOTUS framework.

You will use a simple, guided creative process to slow down, notice patterns and reflect on a question, challenge or possibility that matters to you.

You do not need to be an artist. No previous experience of Madhubani painting is required.

What will we do?

During the session, you will:

🌿 Look — slow down and notice what you may normally overlook.

🌿 Open — use curiosity to explore another perspective.

🌿 Think & Understand — reflect on what you are noticing and what it might mean for you.

🌿 Step forward — identify one practical insight or next step to take away.

We will use a simple Madhubani-inspired creative activity as a tool for reflection. The emphasis is not on producing a perfect artwork, but on what you discover through the process.

Why Madhubani?

Madhubani painting is a traditional art form from Bihar, eastern India. It is recognised for its bold outlines, repeated patterns and imagery drawn from nature, everyday life and cultural traditions.

In this workshop, you don't need to know the symbolism or history of every motif.

Instead, we use the visual language and process of pattern, repetition and attention as a starting point for reflection.

This workshop is for you if you...

• feel caught up in the day-to-day and want space to think

• are exploring a new idea, direction or possibility

• want to reconnect with what matters to you

• enjoy creative experiences but don't consider yourself an artist

• are curious about Indian aesthetics and want to experience them in a different way

• simply want one hour away from the usual routine to pause and reflect

What you will leave with

By the end of the session, you will have:

✨ experienced a simple creative reflection process

✨ explored a different way of looking at a situation or question

✨ identified an insight or perspective you may not have considered before

✨ chosen one small next step

And, of course, you will have created something of your own along the way.

No artistic experience required

This is not a traditional art class and there is no expectation that you can draw.

There is no "right" or "wrong" result.

The focus is on the experience of creating, noticing and reflecting.

About the facilitator

I am the founder of KraftGurus, which began by promoting Indian heritage arts, crafts and grassroots artists.

My background brings together law, 16 years of academia, business and coaching. I have taught and worked around areas including business ethics, sustainability, copyright and design law, and I am now bringing these experiences together through creative reflection.

My work explores what happens when coaching, creativity and Indian aesthetics meet.
