About This Event

Menopause, wellbeing and connection: A Women’s Circle & GP Conversation A beautiful evening of connection, sharing and honest conversation Menopause, wellbeing and connection: A Soulful Women’s Circle & GP Conversation A beautiful evening of connection, sharing and honest conversation about our menopause journeys. Menopause can be such a profound time of change. Our bodies are changing, our emotions can shift, our sense of who we are can evolve, and sometimes it can feel like we’re expected to simply get on with it. But what happens when we pause and come together to share what this journey is really like? This evening is an invitation to do just that. We’ll begin with a soulful women’s circle, creating a warm and supportive space to slow down, connect with ourselves and each other, and share our experiences of menopause and midlife. Through meditation, paired sharing, group reflection and journaling, we’ll have space to explore what menopause means to each of us, what we’re experiencing, what we’re learning and perhaps some of the things we don’t often get the chance to talk about. There is no expectation to share anything you don’t want to. You can simply listen, be present and connect. After a short break, we’ll be joined by a GP specialising in women’s health, who will bring a medical perspective to the conversation. There’ll be an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns and learn more about what happens during perimenopause and menopause, including symptoms, hormones, HRT and the many changes that can happen during this stage of life. Rather than a formal talk, this will be an informal and open conversation, where your questions and experiences can help shape the discussion. An evening to... 🌿 Connect with other women going through similar experiences 🌿 Share your own menopause journey and hear the stories of others 🌿 Pause, reflect and listen to yourself 🌿 Explore the emotional and personal side of menopause 🌿 Ask a GP the questions you've been wanting to ask 🌿 Learn more about what is happening in your body 🌿 Leave feeling more informed, connected and supported Whether you’re in the early stages of perimenopause, somewhere in the middle of it, post-menopausal, or simply curious about what this transition might bring, you are welcome. Come as you are. Bring your questions, your stories, your curiosity, or simply yourself. An evening to connect, share, learn and remember that we don’t have to navigate this journey alone. This is a supportive and educational event rather than a substitute for individual medical advice or a GP appointment.* About your Facilitators: Bio -Dr Janet Chelliah is a GP with over 30 years experience as a doctor in the NHS. She obtained her medical degree in Australia. In 1999, she became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, which initiated her interest in Women's Health. She has been trained in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy , by the British Menopause Society. CBT is the only non medical treatment approved by NICE Guidance to help , hot flushes and some other perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms. Dr Janet Chelliah says, ‘ I am a woman in her 50s walking through menopause while caring for a disabled daughter and supporting another. This time of life has been deeply personal and profoundly transformative. Especially since it was a time coping with cancer in the family, too.’ For decades, she supported women through every stage of life, from adolescence to menopause. But living it herself-while balancing caregiving, work, and self-care; has given her a new perspective on what true well-being means. It’s taught her that knowledge alone isn't enough; what women need is empathy, clarity, and community.: Johanna van de Voort is a trained Circle Facilitator and has been holding monthly circles fir 1.5 years and facilitating groups for many years. Her circles and women's groups are rooted in wellbeing, communication, Ceremony, and creativity, with a focus on the seasons, and creating safe spaces, connection and community for women of all ages and walks of life. What to bring: A journal A pen Water bottle A shawl or blanket to be cosy
