Join Sligo Bay Catchment Rivers Trust for an evening Himalayan balsam maintenance session around Glenade and Magheramore.

We're heading out for another evening of Himalayan balsam maintenance as we continue working across the catchment.

Having now completed our main expansion work, we're concentrating on keeping our cleared sites clear. We'll be looking for any remaining plants and regrowth and removing them before they have an opportunity to flower and set seed.

Every plant removed now helps protect the progress made throughout the season.

Meeting times:

6:00pm – ATU Sligo Car Park, for anyone travelling together

6:30pm – Magheramore

Finish approximately 9:00pm

All equipment is provided and no previous experience is required.

What to Bring

Sturdy footwear or wellington boots

Long trousers and long sleeves

Weather-appropriate clothing

Waterproofs if rain is forecast

Sun cream, hat and plenty of water if warm

Hot and cold drinks and plenty of biscuits will be available.
