Join us at Cloonagh for a Saturday morning of Himalayan balsam maintenance.

We're back at Cloonagh as our Himalayan balsam programme moves further into maintenance mode.

The main expansion phase of our work is now complete, and our focus is on revisiting sites we've already tackled. By removing any remaining plants before the first frost, we can help prevent further seed production and give our native vegetation the best chance to recover.

This is an important part of the overall eradication programme — clearing an area once isn't enough. Regular follow-up is what will ultimately make the difference.

Meeting times:

9:30am – ATU Sligo Car Park, for anyone travelling together

10:00am – Jordan's Bar Car Park

Finish approximately 1:00pm

All equipment will be provided.

What to Bring

Sturdy footwear or wellington boots

Long trousers and long sleeves recommended

Weather-appropriate clothing

Waterproofs if required

Sun cream, hat and plenty of drinking water if warm

We'll have our usual hot and cold drinks and plenty of biscuits available.
