Learn the art of seaweed pressing with local artist Molly Macleod to create a set of unique botanical artworks!
You will be guided on how to collect and identify your own seaweed specimens, before learning how to preserve them for a lifetime in beautiful, archival quality pressings.

During this half-day (3 hr) workshop we will forage for specimens at Caerfai Beach, followed by learning the art of pressing and preserving your specimens at The Really Wild Emporium. Dive into the history of this favoured Victorian hobby whilst learning how seaweed can shape our future.
Dates of workshops (link to book below):
* Sunday 15th March - 10am till 1pm
* Saturday 4th July - 2pm till 5pm
* Saturday 26th September - 12pm - 3pm
* Friday 27th November - 1.30pm - 4.30pm

Important Notes:
* This workshop is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old.
* In order to cover our costs we need to sell a minimum of 7 places per workshop. Should we not reach our minimum numbers we will unfortunately have to cancel the event. Please check your spam/junk email folders the day before your event to ensure we have not contacted you about a potential cancellation.
* The workshop includes a 20 min walk up a steep hill.
* Details on where to meet and what to bring will automatically be emailed to you with your order confirmation, so please check your emails (including spam/junk folders!). Should you not receive this within a day of ordering, please get in touch with us.
* Please bring wellies with you as the course will involve paddling in the shallows.

About Molly Macleod:
Molly Macleod is a multidisciplinary artist exploring scientific concepts through collaborative projects with researchers and scientists. She is a graduate from MA Art & Science at Central Saint Martins and has exhibited her work in major galleries such as TATE Modern, Maverick Projects, Apiary Studios & Fabrica Gallery and in far flung remote locations such as; in the shadow of a volcano on the Azorean Island of Pico for Montanha Festival and in the wilderness of the Pyrenean mountain range for CAMP France. She was recently shortlisted for the MullenLowe NOVA Award and was named the winner of the Digital Arts category of the Global Design Graduate Showcase 2021 from Artsthread & Gucci
