This workshop is designed for start‑up businesses up to 5 years old who want to feel more confident, organised and in control.
Running a business in its first couple of years can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to money, systems, and admin.
This practical, supportive workshop will show delegates how to build a simple, effective accounting tech stack that supports your business without you needing to do everything yourself or feel intimidated by numbers.
What we’ll cover
At the heart of the session is Xero, which we’ll explore as more than just accounting software. You’ll learn how to use Xero as a platform to run your business, giving you clarity on cash flow, performance, and what’s really happening behind the scenes.
We’ll also look at useful tools that can sit alongside Xero, including:
Receipt and invoice capture tools (Hubdoc, Dext)
CRM tools such as Capsule
Payroll and people systems
Other platforms that integrate with Xero
What to expect
This is a no‑jargon, no‑judgement workshop. You don’t need to be “good with numbers”, tech‑savvy, or have everything figured out already. The focus is on using the right systems at the right stage of your business.
What you’ll leave with
A clear understanding of what your business actually needs
A simple tech stack plan you can implement straight away
Greater confidence in your finances and business systems
Eligibility: Businesses aged 0 - 5 years, based in Staffordshire (excluding Stoke‑on‑Trent).
