Tribal Gathering : An Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Journey with Sarsen Ecstatic Dance
David and Katie invite you to join them for a morning of embodied movement, dance, sound bath and community.
Come as you are. Move as you feel. Dance like no one is watching!
This is a conscious, drug-and-alcohol-free celebration where the music is the medicine and the dance floor is your sanctuary.
This journey is going to take you back to your tribal roots with music that evokes tribal rhythms, plus live didgeridoo and drums to add an extra layer deep rooted knowing of our tribal hertiage.
The Journey
The Opening circle & Ceremonial Cacao We begin our circle with a short meditation led by David & then sip warm, ceremonial-grade cacao* or hot chcoclate alternative for those unable to have cacao . With the addedx effect of David & Katie playing there shamanic drums to heighten the experience. *(see below for more info on cacao including contra-indications)
Embodied Movement: Katie will then guide you through a short movement practice, starting to move gently to see how the body is feeling inside and out, making a bit of space in the body so we are ready to DANCE!!
The Dance: Ecstatic Movement: David will then guide you into the ecstatic dance journey. We will move through a "wave" of music—starting slow and rhythmic, building to a high-energy peak of liberation, and landing back in stillness. Think fun, full of joy and dancing like no ones watching! Expect grounding drums and bass as well as didgeridoo to start, moving into a definite tribal vibe.
Sound Bath and guided relaxation: As the dance concludes, you will be invited to find stillness. We will transition into a soothing sound bath and guided relaxation featuring the Earthy tones of the didgeridoo and other live instruments to integrate the energy of the practice and lead you into deep relaxation.
The Closing: Healthy snacks & Connection We then end our journey together with healthy snacks and herbal tea. You are also welcome to bring a packed lunch to enjoy in the field outside the hall where we can get to know each other more.
Important Information
Conscious Space: This is a strictly drug and alcohol-free event to ensure a safe and authentic experience for all.
What to Wear: Comfortable clothes you can sweat and move in. Layers are recommended.
What to Bring: Water, a cushion to sit on if needed and a blanket for the relaxation, a packed lunch if you woul like to picnic with us in the field adterwards.
Footwear: We dance barefoot or in grip socks to stay grounded to the earth.
*The Spirit of Cacao: Benefits & Safety
At our dances, we share ceremonial-grade cacao—a plant medicine used for centuries to open the heart and connect with the soul.
The Benefits
Heart Opening: Cacao contains theobromine, which increases blood flow to the heart and encourages a sense of openness, empathy, and emotional release.
Natural Mood Elevator: It stimulates the production of "feel-good" chemicals like dopamine, serotonin, and anandamide (often called the "bliss molecule").
Nutrient Dense: It is one of the highest plant-based sources of magnesium (the "relaxation mineral"), iron, and antioxidants.
Grounding Energy: Unlike the jittery spike of coffee, cacao provides a gentle, sustained energy that helps you stay present during dance and sound healing.
Contraindications and Precautions
While cacao is generally safe, its stimulating effects mean it isn't for everyone. Please be mindful of the following:
Antidepressants (SSRIs/MAOIs): Cacao contains tryptophan and tyramine. When combined with some antidepressants, it can occasionally cause headaches or, in rare cases, serotonin syndrome.
Heart Conditions: Because cacao increases heart rate and acts as a vasodilator, please consult your doctor if you have a serious heart condition or very high blood pressure.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Not recommended inPregnancy or whilst breast feeding.
A Note on Choice: Being Part of the Circle
Whether you choose to sip the cacao or simply sit with us in the circle, you will fully receive the magic of the event. The "medicine" can come from collective energy and intentions just as much about the cacao itself.
There will also be a hot chocolate alternative to the Cacao for anyone who would prefer it.
Photos or videos maybe taken:
These are taking with upmost discreation and are used for social media purposes and will generally be of David and Katie and their performance.
