Join us for a friendly, creative Clay Stamp Making and Printing workshop led by local community art practitioner Lulu Wong, who facilitates art workshops across the UK drawing on her background as an art educator in Hong Kong.

About the Workshop

Part two of The Round community art project builds on gel printing by taking it a step further. This interactive 2-hour session offers a welcoming space for participants to share their own ideas, stories, and personal inspiration while discovering the art of handcrafted ceramic clay stamps.

In this workshop, you will:

Express your stories through stamp-making: Turn your ideas and personal motifs into ceramic clay stamps.

Learn stamp-making techniques: Master carving, scratching (texture sgraffito), and building raised patterns (additive technique) on ceramic clay to create multi-textured stamps.

Combine clay stamps with gel plate printing: Use your custom stamps to layer rich, textured designs, sharing the meanings behind your work with fellow participants.

Print on multiple surfaces: Experiment printing on both clay slabs and paper to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind art pieces to take home!

Cost: FREE. Funded by the Wigan Borough Community First Grant. (Voluntary donations are welcome on the day to support local artist Lulu Wong).
