Get ready to stitch up some fun and learn new sewing tricks this autumn with our adult classes!

Adult Sewing Classes during the Autumn Term 2026.

Join us at the Art Classes Group Studio for relaxed and creative weekly sewing sessions. Whether you are a beginner or already have some sewing experience, you will receive guidance from our tutor while developing your practical sewing and textile skills.

What will we be learning?

Stumpwork embroidery

Discover the art of stumpwork—a traditional raised embroidery technique that uses stitching, padding and shaping to create beautiful three-dimensional designs.

Quilted vest project

Develop your sewing and quilting skills while working towards designing and creating a quilted vest. You will explore fabric preparation, quilting, construction and decorative finishing techniques.

Time: 10:00am–12:00pm

Price: £12 per session, pay as you go

Venue: Art Classes Group Studio, Observatory Shopping Centre, Slough

Age: Adults aged 18+

Who can attend?

The sessions are suitable for beginners as well as participants with some previous sewing experience. Activities can be adapted to different ability levels.

Booking and attendance

Each £12 ticket covers one two-hour session. Please select the Wednesday you would like to attend when booking.

You are welcome to pay as you go; however, regular attendance is strongly recommended if you would like to complete the quilted vest project, as the work will develop over several sessions.

Places are limited and advance booking is required. Please book only if you are able to attend your selected session. Information about any fabric or additional materials required for the quilted vest will be provided during the course.
