Join us for a gentle cycle and discover Birmingham’s hidden heritage sites by bike
Discover Birmingham’s hidden heritage sites by bike as their trained ride leaders will take you along one of our fantastic ‘Secret Birmingham – Heritage Cycle Routes’ .
When: Thursday 17th September 2026
Time: 6pm - 8pm
Location: Starting/finishing at the Midlands Arts Centre in Cannon Hill Park.
(Park entrance, in the courtyard by the picnic benches)
What to expect:
This led ride is your chance to learn new bike-friendly routes, explore Birmingham by bike with a group and explore some of Birmingham’s hidden heritage sites along the way.
Some of the heritage sites we will visit on this ride include Perrot's Folly, the famous Blondin Statue, Old Joe and the Harborne Walkway – You really are in for a treat!
Starting/finishing at the Midlands Arts Centre in Cannon Hill Park.
Leaving promptly at 6pm - Arrive 10min early for registration. Expect to be out for approx. 2hrs, the route uses cycle paths, green spaces, shared paths and a few quiet roads. Led by qualified ride leaders. We will ride at a gentle pace with plenty of pits stops and opportunity for a refreshment break. - Bring snacks/picnic dinner.
Things to remember:
You will need your own bike and helmet to take part in this ride
Whether you're new to riding, looking to build confidence or a regular cyclist this ride is for you
Ride led by qualified leaders, suitable for all abilities
This is a social ride, the pace will be gentle, nobody gets left behind
Expect lots of chatting, pitstops and smiles
Dress for the weather - Think about suitable footwear, suncream, a water proof and extra layers are a good idea just in case.
Bring a drink/snacks for when you are out on the ride
Inspiring positive action towards using active travel for everyday journeys, part of our Brum By Bike project in partnership with Birmingham Heritage Week and Cycling UK.
