TNBI inclusion and awareness in the therapeutic space will take place on 10 November 2026 at Connexus Institute in Hove. This event will feature an open-floor discussion on Transgender and Non-binary identities.
An open-floor discussion to expand your knowledge of Transgender and Non-binary identities and how we can be inclusive in our practice
This event is a presentation and open-floor discussion and question-and-answer for therapists and trainees of any level to expand their knowledge of Transgender and Non-binary identities and what we can do in the therapeutic space to enhance our practise to be inclusive and support TNBI clients.
This session will explore and talk about Transgender and Non-binary identites, intersectional difficulties TNBI clients may face, important government information and movements and how we can make the client-therapist relationship more inclusive. This topic is always relevant in an ever-changing and developing socio-political landscape, with evidence reinforcing the identities, experiences and history of the Trans community. However, more than ever the TNBI community needs the support and inclusion in spaces with the governments new guidance for ‘single-sex’ spaces and ever growing opposition opinions. This event will allow you to know more about TNBI identities, be more aware of what these clients need and how our work can be inclusive and affirming.
In this session, we will explore:
Trans and Non-Binary Identities.
History of TNBI people and events.
The Intersectionalities and difficulties that Trans and Non-binary people face daily.
How can we make the therapy space and relationship inclusive, affirming and more than just an allyship?
What is the EHRC draft of guidance on gendered spaces actually saying?
The session will consist of a 45-minute to one-hour presentation covering the topics spoken about above and why it is so important for us as therapists to make sure our practise is not only inclusive but also helping others to do the same, especially now. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion/question-and-answer style session when the audience is welcome to ask any questions in regards to the presentation and overall topic.
