The event Universities in a changing world will be held at the Sloane Robinson Building in Bristol. It takes place on 10 October 2026 at 16:00 to mark a 150th anniversary and the opening of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus. Admission is free.
Join us to celebrate our 150th anniversary and the opening of Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus with a series of inspiring events.
We invite you to join Professor Evelyn Welch and a panel of special guests from our city for a spirited conversation around one provocative question: what are we – universities – here for?
For 150 years, higher education has been at the heart of our mission. But how do we equip our graduates to thrive in an era of rapid technological, political and economic upheaval?
Research from Bristol is globally recognised for its rigour and impact. But public trust in universities is lower than ever before: how do we change that story?
And, as we open our doors to the city in Temple Quarter, what will it mean for us to be truly in, of, and for our place in the next 150 years?
In 1876, University College, Bristol was built by its city, from the campaigners who championed it to the students and staff who created community. In this final event of our Saturday 10 October celebrations, we invite our city and communities to once again join us in building our future.
