About This Event

The Latin Poem team returns to Cheltenham for a serious, and fun, look at some ancient poetry. This year, in the midst of Odyssey fever, they explore what Roman poets made of Homer's epic: Virgil on the Cyclops; Ovid on what it feels like when the witch Circe turns you into a pig; and Horace on why we should read the Odyssey . Texts and translations provided and no knowledge of Latin is required. There will be a book signing after this event . Get ahead of your Festival reading and visit the Waterstones Cheltenham Literature Festival bookshop and support Cheltenham Festivals with every purchase.
