This workshop focuses on water quality monitoring along the River Lee, introducing participants to the use of aquatic invertebrates as indicators of environmental health. Attendees will engage in citizen science activities to identify pollution-sensitive species such as stoneflies, mayflies, and cased caddisfly larvae. The session concludes with a practical river cleanup exercise.

StreamScapes and the UCC Environmental Society are leading the workshop, guiding participants through the identification process and the subsequent cleanup.

The event is scheduled to take place at Lee Fields Car Park in Cork on 24 October 2026, starting at 11:00. As this is a listed ticket price of free, no entry fee is required to participate.
