Join Members of Sussex Dragonfly Group for a guided walk around West Rise Marsh in search of Dragonflies and Damselflies.
West Rise Marsh is a 120 acre wetland site on the edge of Eastbourne. It consists of marshland, wet pasture and lakes and is home to a wonderful array of wildlife. During this gentle guided walk around West Langney Lake, we will stop to observe and identify Dragonflies and Damselflies with support from the Sussex Dragonfly Group.
Meeting point and directions: Sevenoaks Road Rec Cark Park, Eastbourne BN23 7LP. Please note: There is a height restriction of 2.1 metres.

What to bring: Please wear sturdy walking shoes or wellingtons if there has been rain, clothes for all weathers. There is little shade so we recommend bringing a hat, water bottle, sun cream and binoculars if you have them. You may want to bring something to take notes with.

Toilet facilities: There is no public toilet at this site. Nearest toilet can be found inside the Esso Garage LANGNEY RISE, EASTBOURNE, BN23 7PW.

Public Transport: Take the 1A bus from Eastbourne Train Station to Sidcup Close. www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk There is then a 3 minute walk to the car park.
Accessibility: We will be walking on flat, uneven terrain for a distance of around 3km. Ground may be muddy after rain, and at times the fields can be very wet so wellington boots may be worth bringing. There are no stiles.
