About This Event

The Battle of Langside Guided Walk will take place on September 19th at the Church on the Hill in Glasgow. It is an outdoor event that will explore the events leading up to the battle and what happened on the day. The event is free to attend.

Mary's attempt to reclaim her throne came to an end at Langside. Come and explore what happened on the day, and what led up to the battle.

The Battle of Langside can be viewed either as a family squabble which got out of hand or as one of the most significant events in the history of Scotland. Having been deposed and imprisoned by her half-brother and his supporters, Mary Queen of Scots escaped and was making her way to safety at Dumbarton Castle. Mary and her retinue were intercepted at Langside on the 13th of May 1568. Come and join the tour and find out what happened next.
