This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed for people who need a recognised workplace first aid qualification, as well as anyone who wants the confidence to respond effectively when something goes wrong. The course combines straightforward instruction with plenty of practical, hands-on training. You’ll learn how to assess an emergency, respond to common workplace injuries and illnesses, perform CPR and use an AED (automated external defibrillator), and provide appropriate first aid until further help arrives. What you'll cover: • Assessing an emergency and responding safely • CPR and use of an AED • Choking • Severe bleeding and shock • Burns • Fractures and soft-tissue injuries • Seizures • Unconscious casualties • Common workplace injuries and illnesses • Recording and reporting incidents The course includes the required practical activities and assessment. Successful candidates will receive the appropriate certification following completion of the course. Places are limited, so advance booking is required. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing suitable for practical activity. The course involves kneeling, bending, CPR practice and physical contact with other participants.
