Through slow, comfortable movements and guided exploration, you’ll have the opportunity to discover new possibilities in the way you use your self so you can navigate your way through life with greater ease, efficiency and effectiveness. Rather than stretching, exercising or trying to achieve a particular posture, the focus is on curiosity, awareness and learning. The results can be profound and long lasting.
This session is for you if you want to :
• Reduce tension, stiffness and every-day aches
• Improve balance, posture and co-ordination
• Refine skills for hobbies, sports, work or everyday life
• Unlock new possibilities for how you move, think or feel.
Who is it for?
Everyone can benefit from the Feldenkrais Method. Whether you are an office worker with back issues, a grandparent wanting to get on the floor with their grandchildren, a sports enthusiast looking for that extra edge, are recuperating after an injury, or simply want to feel more joy and freedom in how you move through your life, the Feldenkrais Method meets you where you are. There is no one-size-fits-all approach or ideal way of moving; instead, you’ll be guided to explore what works for you, building on your own unique abilities, experiences and preferences.
No prior experience is necessary. The lessons are normally taught on the floor . If you struggle with getting on or off the please let us know when you book, or contact us, in order that we can work out suitable atlernatives .
What will happen in the workshop?
You will be guided through a number of ‘Awareness Through Movement’ lessons where you will be taken through a series of gentle, easy movements at a pace and level that suits you.
A talk and Q and A session about The Method and how it works
A short demonstration of A ‘Functional Integration’ (one to one) Lesson
Guided reflection on how you might use The Method to achieve your personal goals
Who will be running the workshop?
Mark Lacey and Emily Myers are qualified Feldenkrais teachers offering group and individual lessons based in Battle and Robertsbridge respectively. They are excited about bringing their expertise, and the wide ranging benefits of The Feldenkrais Method to the area. Mark, an Assistant trainer, has many years experience and Emily recently completed her 4 year training at the Feldenkrais International Training School, in Sussex.
Mark comes from a performing arts background and after exploring many body based practices, when he first experience Feldenkrias he knew 'this was the one'.
Emily also works as a gardener and has a life long love of dancing. She has experienced Feldenkrais as a means of self regulation and found better ways of moving and changed habits that previously caused pain.
There will also be other qualified and trainee Feldenkrias practitioners on hand to ensure you get the most out of your experience of the day .
