The organisation Monocle will offer guided tours of its building at the MONOCLE venue in Hull on September 16, 2026. The event is free.
Ever wondered what's inside Monocle? Join a free guided tour and discover Hull's transformed landmark, one year after reopening.
Now is your time to explore Monocle
Built in 1975, this iconic Hull city centre building was originally known as Europa House. Its distinctive mirrored glazing made it one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. While people passed by every day, very few ever saw what was inside.
Following an extensive redevelopment by Allenby Commercial, the building reopened in August 2025 as Monocle, a vibrant, modern workspace and coffee house designed for businesses, collaboration and community.
Now, one year on, we're celebrating our first anniversary by opening our doors for a series of free public building tours.
During your guided tour you'll:
Receive free teas, coffees and biscuits - the perfect accommodation to your building tour
Explore the beautifully restored spaces, from welcoming communal areas to contemporary workspaces
Learn about the businesses and community that now call Monocle home
Finally answer the question so many people have asked over the years: "What's inside?"
Whether you remember Europa House from years gone by, are fascinated by Hull's architecture, or have simply been curious to look inside, we'd love to welcome you.
Spaces are free, but booking is essential.
