A walk along Spurn Point with a member of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and East Riding Council Active Communities team.
Join the Active Communities Team and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for a led walk along the stunning Spurn Point. Yorkshires very own Land’s End – an iconic and constantly moving peninsula which curves between the North Sea and the Humber Estuary. At over three miles long but as little as 50 meters wide, this landscape is unique and ever-changing. Our walk will take in the fantastic nature reserve whilst enjoying the magnificent coastal landscape. We stop for a packed lunch at the lighthouse restored in 2016 where you can read all about the restoration and climb the steps to the top. Carrying on we pass several bunkers and an impressive signpost before emerging onto the beach with panoramic views of the Humber and North Sea. Then it’s along the beach back to the Spurn Discovery Centre where you can ponder at your leisure reading the display boards and enjoying the café. Please note whilst the event is FREE there is a £5 car parking charge at Spurn Point payable in the café. Please arrive 15 minutes early to organise your carparking before meeting outside the Discovery Centre for the walk at 10am.
Distance: 7 miles
