Mini Conference: Extreme Teamwork and Decision-Making

The inaugural Extreme Teamwork and Decision-Making mini Conference is a one-day event bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers and industry partners interested in understanding and improving performance in high-stakes contexts.

Extreme teams operate under conditions of pressure, uncertainty, risk, and consequence, where effective teamwork and decision-making are critical for safety, performance, and mission success. These conditions may arise from the environment in which teams operate, the tasks they perform, or the consequences of failure. Examples of extreme teams include emergency response teams, healthcare teams, military units, humanitarian teams, aviation crews, nuclear operators, and spaceflight teams.

The conference will feature a keynote address, lightning talks, a methods cafe, and a panel discussion designed to showcase emerging research, identify key challenges, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and shape future research and practice. A draft agenda is as follows (speakers tbc).
