Joseph, to discuss Olivia's most recent novel, The Silver Book. The Silver Book is a hypnotic novel of art, desire and illusion, set in the dream factory of 1970s Italian cinema. Blending historical fact with fiction, it follows a young English artist who is drawn into the worlds of Federico Fellini and Pier Paolo Pasolini, where love, creativity and danger become impossible to separate. Stylish, sensual and deeply immersive, it is both a queer love story and a noir thriller, and an exploration of the uneasy relationship between truth and artifice. Olivia Laing is an internationally acclaimed writer and critic. They are the author of eight books, including The Lonely City, Everybody, the Sunday Times number one bestseller The Garden Against Time, and the novel Crudo, which won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Their work has been translated into more than twenty languages. Lauren J. Joseph is a writer and artist based in London. She is the author of the novels At Certain Points We Touch, Everything Must Go and most recently, Lean Cat, Savage Cat. Tickets include complimentary drinks. Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.
