About The Standard of Living

The Standard of Living opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, London, as a new world-premiere play by Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham. Directed by Nicholas Hytner, it tells the story of economist John Maynard Keynes as he moves between Whitehall and the Bloomsbury circle around him.

The play follows Keynes as markets crash, old systems crumble and Britain edges towards chaos. It explores his search for an answer to one question: what is a good life? The production brings together music, dance, desire and debate in a portrait of Keynes, Lydia Lopokova, Duncan Grant and Virginia Woolf.

Opening from 21 September for a strictly limited 12-week season.

If you have a +1 on your Nimbus/Access card and the access need is not mobility-related, you can choose any price except Premiums, pay full price for one ticket and receive the +1 ticket free, processed as two tickets at half price. If you are disabled due to mobility, or are deaf or visually impaired, Stalls seats are offered at £25, excluding Premiums. Allocation is limited to 4 centre Stalls D seats for visual or hearing issues, 4 aisle pairs for mobility issues, and 2 wheelchair spaces.
