The tour will feature Manchester-born and Manchester-adopted writers and Manchester film and TV locations. Expect quotes and tales from poets, novelists, directors, actors, even politicians and musicians all of whom have employed the power of the word or the image.

The route takes in landmarks associated with writers such as Elizabeth Gaskell, Friedrich Engels, Charles Dickens, Frederick Douglass, Anthony Burgess, Maisie Moscoe, Howard Jacobson, Len Johnson, Joseph Knox, Carol Ann Duffy. We pass locations from Hell is a City, Coronation Street, Coldplay, Captain America, Darkest Hour, Prime Suspect, Cracker, Fool Me Once, Anatomy of a Scandal, Sherlock Holmes, The Iron Lady and Peaky Blinders.
