Join Sadie from Fluff Studios to wet felt your own unique sauna hat followed by a relaxing sauna and cold plunge

Join this sauna hat wet felting workshop at the beautiful Shire Retreat and create your own headwear from natural wool. Guided step by step by wool artist Sadie, you’ll shape and form your own sauna hat using a simple wet felting technique that’s as calming as it is satisfying. You don't need any previous experience to join in; just come as you are and enjoy the tactile process of working with wool.

Learn a new hobby & get more creative with making from scratch

Sadie is a passionate maker who loves empowering people to get hands-on and feel more connected to the materials they use, with sustainability in mind with each make.

Hand-felt your sauna hat

Learn the traditional wet felting process using natural wool to create your sauna hat then learn the basics in needle felting to personalise your design. Using an ecru or grey wool base you'll add your own flair with colourful shapes or wording. This workshop is a wonderful way to switch off and find a new creative hobby.

Gain versatile skills

Once you’ve mastered the basics of shaping your hat, you'll discover how to apply these techniques to other felted projects in the future like bags, berets, or even felted pictures.

Your teacher is also big into healthy living and is a self proclaimed kale powered contortionist . She will talk through the benefits of saunas and the added benefits of wearing a sauna hat.

Sauna & Cold Plunge

Feel the difference with wearing your new hat and spend the final hour with a well deserved rest in the SUKU Sauna, enjoying the views and taking a cold plunge or two to cool off.

Please note: We will be using an ecru/cream-coloured wool for the body of the hat, and we can personalise the shape and the wording using various colours.

What to bring?

Teas, coffees and energy balls will be provided, please bring your own lunch if you would like something more substantial in the day.

Please bring all towels, swim wear, footwear etc for sauna and plunge.

Wear short sleeves for the workshop, and avoid bracelets and chunky rings.

Wear comfy clothing so you can sit for a few hours for the sauna hat workshop.

Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid missing out.
