Expression of interest for singers who would like to join us for a Come and Sing workshop and short performance of various Choral Classics
Come and Sing workshop and informal performance.
Singers aged 8 and above - this is your chance to learn and sing some Choral Classics in a glorious acoustic as part of the Willis Pipe Organ Festival for Heritage Open Days. Music to include Zadok the Priest and Halleluiah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. All scores will be loaned to you for this event, you do not need to bring your own scores.
Unfortunately, the Willis Organ is unlikely to be played on this occasion because it has a electrical fault with the main switch. We are working to get this fixed as soon as possible.
Draft list of choral music we hope to sing on the day:
G.F. Handel: Zadok the Priest and Hallelujah Chorus
A. Sullivan: The long day closes
H. Howells: Hymn to St Cecilia
H. Purcell: Thou knowest Lord
E. Whitacre: Sing Gently
R. Vaughan-Williams: Let all the world
W.A. Mozart: Ave verum and Lacrimosa
T. Tallis: If ye love me
The list is not final and may change, but this is a representative list of what we hope to sing.
Jacob Collins, Director of Music at St Mary & St Giles church, will conduct with Laurence Caldecote playing the piano and the temporary electronic organ.
