Spend an evening learning about Gosforth Nature Reserve's most elusive residents!

Join us for a members-exclusive opportunity for Badger watching at Gosforth Nature Reserve from our specially-built platform.

About this event

Sessions begin in the Field Studies Room with a coffee and a short talk about Badger ecology, including tracks and signs. We will then head out into the nature reserve looking for signs of Badger activity before hunkering down in our specially-built Badger Watching platform.

Groups are very limited to limit disturbance to the Badgers. Please refrain from booking on multiple dates so that as many people as possible are able to enjoy this wonderful experience.

Please note that Badgers are wild animals and although Badger sightings are common, we are not guaranteed to see them.

Event length: 1 session, Wednesday 26 August, 6.45 pm - 8.45 pm (approx)

Accessibility note: The walk down to the sett can be tricky, especially muddy and wet after rain, wellies required. Our Badger-watching platform is accessed by a 6-step ladder, and is quite narrow with a backless bench for seating. Children are allowed - however once on the platform they have to be able to sit very quietly for an extended period of time.

Please bring: Torch, wellies as the walk down can get very wet and muddy, long trousers and sleeves.
