Do you dread the darker nights drawing in, or just love getting cosy under a blanket? Our twilight retreat will coach you through the change of season and help bring you calm before the chaos of the festive period. Why not take a little time for you to refill your cup and restore energies? Whether you attend as an individual or with a loved one, you’ll quickly find friendship and connection in our small, supportive group.
At all our retreats, everything is an invitation. There’s no pressure, no previous experience needed, and you don’t even have to believe that you can find calm or get creative. Our inclusive activities are all especially designed for those who can find it a bit harder than most to take part without support. Throughout each session you’ll be offered accessible ways to adapt, pause or step away from anything that doesn’t feel comfortable for you. And our experienced team will be there every step of the way.
ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
Not all our events are suitable for everyone. After booking we will get in touch to check your accessibility requirements and we will guide you to the activities that will be suitable for you.
Venue – accessible parking, fully accessible disabled toilet, step-free access throughout
Refreshments – dietary requirements will be catered for whenever possible
Mindful Moments - We supply luxury padded floor mats, but you don’t have to be able to get down to floor to take part, you can do all activities from a chair. The slow movement included in QiGong is very gentle, mainly based on upper body and suitable for most people. During this session you will need to be able to maintain silence for short periods. You do not need to stay in any position for long periods. There will be soft lighting, relaxing soundtracks, sensory textures and aromatherapy smells to enjoy.
Macrame Crafts - You will need good hand dexterity to be able to tie knots in thick cord and use scissors for this session. We give simple step-by-step instructions, use diagrams and in-person demonstrations to help you learn the craft. There are alternative creative activities if you find that macrame is not accessible for you.
Fireside Circle – This session takes place in an outdoor hut approximately 25m from the main hall. The hut has a real-life open log fire with a huge chimney which may not be suitable for those with respiratory conditions triggered by smoke. It is warm and cosy with a selection of faux-fur mats, cushions and blankets. The seats are wooden benches built into the walls which can make this venue less suitable for some wheelchair users. This is an interactive session where participants have the choice to share their reflections. You must be able to hold silence, listen to others and respond with sensitivity to attend this session.
