On 30 September 2026, a support event for parents will take place at Victoria Park and St Mary's Rest Garden in Nottingham. The initiative aims to provide resources and assistance to parents navigating the challenges of family life and work. Various professionals will be available to offer guidance.
Parenting is tough. Between family life, work, and everyday pressure, it’s easy to put your own wellbeing last.
That’s why I’ve been running gentle Wellbeing Walks since January: a calm space for parents to step outside, take a short walk, and reconnect.
Thanks to The Renewal Trust, these monthly walks are now free for parents in Sneinton and St Ann’s, including a free drink.
The project will run once a month from September 2026 to August 2027, usually on the last Wednesday of each month. However, dates may shift if participants request a change due to bad weather.
Each session includes simple practices like box breathing, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, and guided imagery meditation, followed by a free drink and relaxed conversation.
What has been most encouraging is seeing parents return, bring a friend, or simply say they felt a little lighter after the session. Some come for the fresh air, others for the quiet moment of calm, and many appreciate the chance to meet other parents who understand the everyday challenges of family life.
If you’d like a gentle start to the day or simply to connect with other parents, you’re very welcome.
